Alexey has more than 8 years experience in IT as a software and integration architect and project and program manager. As a head of integration solutions practice, Alexey is responsible for new solutions in SOA and B2B integration, team and business development. Rumours persist that he co-founded several other software companies including Cohesive Networks, after a career as a prop trader in fixed income derivatives, and a misspent youth studying and teaching mathematical logic.

A Quick Startup in Transportation – Inter-Company Data Exchange in Railway Operations
Anjana is a senior technical lead who focuses on the development of the WSO2 Data Services Server. He has carried out several onsite customer engagements, primarily focused on integration enabled by the WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus.
He is a contributor to Apache Axis2, and participated in the Google Summer of Code 2006 where we worked on the Apache Mirae project in implementing a multimedia messaging service transport. He also has experience in mobile computing, service-oriented architecture for the European Union’s Information Society Technologies, and Java enterprise Web development.
Artur consults for the e-Government Center of Moldova with conceptualizing and implementing interoperability frameworks and establishing enterprise architectures. His objectives include enabling business processes alignment, conceptualizing valuable technology investments and validating the quality of technology solutions. Artur has previously worked as a technical architect at a leading multinational IT company in Moldova, specializing in security and performance aspects of enterprise systems.
Asanka spearheads the company’s customer facing technical tasks and oversees the solution architecture and technical sales functions. He also provides consulting to key WSO2 customer and conducts workshops specifically targeted at enterprise architects and technical managers.
Asanka has over 15 years of industry experience, which include implementing projects ranging from desktop and web applications through to highly scalable distributed systems and SOAs in the financial domain, mobile platforms, and business integration solutions. His areas of specialization include application architecture, development using Java technologies, C/C++ on Linux and Windows platforms. He is a committer of the Apache Software Foundation and has a BSc in MIS from National University of Ireland.

Charalampos Doukas is an IoT researcher, maker and developer advocate. He spends his time tinkering devices and connecting them to the Internet (both for fun and as his day job). He runs workshops on IoT and he promotes open source hardware and software. He is the author of “Building Internet of Things with the Arduino” and “Prototyping the Internet of Things with JavaScript”.
Dmitry, as Vice President of Cloud solutions, oversees all projects related to WSO2’s cloud offerings.
Prior to WSO2, he worked at Quest Software (now a part of Dell) as Director of Cloud Solutions, and later co-founded Jelastic PaaS and led Jelastic’s sales, marketing, customer, and partner relationships. Dmitry has been a featured speaker at multiple industry events including Microsoft TechEd, VMware VMWorld, Parallels Summit, Quest Innovate, and Technology Experts Conference (TEC).

Hillary is a member of the Solutions Architecture team at Ordnance Survey, a government organisation which is the UK’s national mapping agency. He was involved in the introduction of the Open Source First Policy at Ordnance Survey. Prior to Ordnance Survey, Hillary has had a successful career in designing and developing applications and architectures particularly in eCommerce.
He was involved in the earliest eCommerce developments, creating the engine that managed the first eCommerce transaction in the UK. He started his solutions architecture career as a senior technical architect at Compaq/Digital where he enhanced his innovative development work with the specification and management of new Internet infrastructure deployments and systems for companies such as Reuters, Elan and MoneyXtra.
Notably, Hillary was also Chief Technical Officer of CricInfo, the largest sports website in the world where he managed an international team of people and suppliers across a worldwide infrastructure serving 12 million unique visitors per day.
Imesh is a Senior Technical Lead at WSO2 and the Product Lead of WSO2 Private PaaS. He is a committer and a Project Management Committee (PMC) member of Apache Stratos project. Imesh has provided technical consultancy for many customers on designing and implementing Enterprise Integration and Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions at WSO2.
Imesh holds a masters with a distinction in Enterprise Applications Development awarded by Sheffield Hallam University (SHU), United Kingdom, a bachelors in Information Technology awarded by Curtin University of Technology, Australia and a bachelors with special honours in Information Technology awarded by Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), Sri Lanka.
Imesh implemented a PaaS solution for Mono for his masters thesis and received an award for his work from SHU. He has also received many other awards during his bachelors for his contributions and performance. Imesh has done visiting lectures and supervised final year research projects at University of Moratuwa, University of Peradeniya, University of Kelaniya and University of Colombo, SLIIT, Sri Lanka.

Iurie joined eGC in early 2011 to help establish a high quality e-government technology platform. As CTO, his main efforts are concentrated on putting modern technologies such as cloud and mobile computing to serve citizen’s needs.
Prior to joining eGC, for many years Iurie led a group of IT architects and analysts in a multinational IT company, where he and his team developed and implemented information systems for leading companies in the financial, investment, telecommunication and media sectors from all around the world.
Iurie graduated the Technical University of Moldova where he completed his master’s degree in computer science. He is still in contact with his alma mater, where he teaches software engineering courses and conducts research in modeling and performance evaluation of service oriented computing systems.
Jean-Jacques has been working in the SOA space since 1998 and has contributed to several standard specifications including ebXML, OAGIs, WS-*, SCA and BPMN. In the last 10 years he has helped large IT organizations build their SOA. He recently completed a major SOA uplift for a large financial institution, deploying a highly available, fully instrumented SOA stack using the WSO2 ESB, API Manager, Process Server, Data Services Server, Application Server, BAM and Governance Registry.
He is the CEO and co-founder of xgen.io. He is the inventor of the BOLT methodology and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Provence.
John Mathon joined WSO2 in 2013 and he currently serves as Vice President of Enterprise Evangelism. As a founder of TIBCO software and inventor of the publish/subscribe paradigm he helped establish TIBCO as the leading middleware provider in the world. He has spent more than 20 years working on enterprise software for corporations worldwide. Prior to joining WSO2, John started other companies, created numerous patents and has been a visionary for enterprise software. Besides TIBCO, he started Slam Dunk Networks now known as Cloud Prime, Mathon Systems in the DLP space and has helped CA Technologies move to the cloud and and SaaS and Bridgewater Assoc rebuild their Research Architecture.
John believes software simplicity helps create agility for the enterprise. Integration is a key element of every corporation’s plans because no company can replace everything they’ve done before, with whatever is the latest and best technology. Making products easy to use, understand, and simple to integrate with, according to John, enables enterprises to adapt to the constantly changing technological landscape.
John Morada is the Vice President of Strategic Alliances. His dual role is to acquire and manage strategic SI partners and lead a team of new business development managers. Finding the fun in either role is about taking a well-thought strategy and building efficent paths to revenue.
Johann is a Technical Lead at WSO2 and is the product lead of WSO2 Identity Server. Juan Caubet is a security researcher at the R&D IT security department of Barcelona Digital Technology Centre. He is currently working in two European funded research projects where he focuses on digital identity, personal data management, privacy protection, user authentication and more. He has a M.S. Degree from the Telecommunication Engineering Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), Spain, and is planning to defend his PhD thesis in “Identity Management in Structured P2P Networks” later this year.

Kasun focuses on the WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus. In addition to his product development efforts, he has provided technology consulting on customer engagements, helping to successfully implement solutions for integrating Web services, SAP, FIX, and mobile services.
He is an elected member of the Apache Software Foundation and a Project Management Committee member and committer for the Apache Synapse open source ESB project. He took part in the Google Summer of Code for 2007, working on the Apache Axis2/C project. He also contributed to the Apache Rampart/C project, having implemented WS-Trust specification for its federated identity framework for Web services. He is proficient in C/C++, specializing in Web services, information retrieval systems, and enterprise search platforms, focusing primarily on indexing components.
Lakmal is Director of Cloud Architecture at WSO2. Also taking on the role of Vice President of Apache Stratos, Lakmal focuses on the development of WSO2 Private PaaS, which is built on top of the Apache Stratos project.
In 2005, Lakmal co-founded the thinkCube, the pioneers in developing the next generation of Collaborative Cloud Computing products that are tailored towards Telecom operators. He oversaw the overall engineering process, giving special attention to scalability and service delivery of thinkCube solutions. Prior to co-founding thinkCube, Lakmal spent four years at ITABS, a company that specialized in Linux based server deployments that came with a custom easy-to-use server management interface. He has also presented at numerous events, including ApacheCon, CloudOpen, QCon, JaxLondon, Cloudstack Collaboration Conference, WSO2Con and many tech meetups.

Mifan Careem is Director of Solutions Architecture at WSO2. He is experienced in SOA and industry specific solution architectures and specialises in spatial architectures and GIS, eGovernment cloud, emergency management and big data analytics. Mifan works closely with customers liaising with WSO2 Engineering and Sales teams to analyse and define domain specific solution architectures in client domains. He is also lead architect for many global projects, including the national initiative to build a cloud-based SOA platform for local government bodies in Sri Lanka. Mifan is a frequent speaker at events around the globe and was a founding member and board director of the Sahana Disaster Management Project. He is also a consultant spatial architect for many government initiatives in Sri Lanka.
Mifan is a PhD candidate at University of Colombo, has an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business and holds a degree from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Before joining WSO2, Mifan was the co-founder and CTO at Respere, a technology startup focusing on eGovernment and Disaster Management ICT solutions.

Nirosh is the Senior Director of Partnerships at WSO2. In this role, he assumes the responsibility of building mutually successful relations with integrators and VARs, which includes recruiting, enabling and working to grow their businesses through WSO2.
Prior to joining WSO2, Nirosh worked with SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka in the sales and marketing division, where he handled a portfolio of clients. He has also gained experience in the IT sphere, working as an UI Engineer at Virtusa Corp; a global information technology (IT) services company.
Nirosh holds a Bachelor of IT degree from the University of Colombo, and a MBA from the Australian Institute of Business, Adelaide.

Nuwan is a Technical Lead at WSO2. Hi main area of focus is on the architectural and research, and development aspects of WSO2 API Manager. He has also been involved in many customer engagements where he has assisted people in developing their solutions architecture. Prior to joining WSO2, he worked at Informatics International Limited as a Senior Software Engineer.
Paul Fremantle is the Co-Founder of WSO2 and an active board observer and advisor. He was CTO of the company until early 2015. Paul is a committer and member of the Apache Foundation where he helped start numerous projects including Axis2, and Synapse. Paul previously was a Senior Technical Staff Member at IBM where he led the open sourcing of three internal projects and added the first SOA support to the WebSphere platform. Paul plays the tin whistle and is a keen snowboarder. He is currently researching secure middleware for the Internet of Things at Portsmouth University.
Prabath is a Technical Lead at WSO2. Prior to joining WSO2, Prabath graduated from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and holds an Honours Degree in Computer Science and Engineering. His final year project was on implementing an efficient, reliable and scalable middleware for publish-subscribe paradigm. He is an open source enthusiast. He is also passionate about the concepts of SOA and cloud computing. Distributed Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Software Security are his favorite technical domains.
Prabath is the Director of Security Architecture at WSO2. Prior to his current role, he chaired the Management Committee – Integration Technologies. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering and a masters in Computer Science from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. He is a member of OASIS Identity Metasystem Interoperability (IMI) TC, OASIS eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML) TC, and OASIS Security Services (SAML) TC. Prabath is also a member of Apache Axis PMC.
Rafael is a data and analytics leader with over 15 years of experience working with blue chip companies across the globe. His background is rooted in financial services where he worked for American Express and Barclays for 12 years in a number of different roles. More recently he was a Managing Partner at the advertising agency Ogilvy looking after analytics and technology across EMEA, before he joined Experian as the Head of Analytics for the Marketing Services division.
His focus is on the creation of organization capabilities through the use of advanced technology to tackle the increasingly complex analytics challenges. He holds a BA in Business Studies, an MSc in IT for e-Commerce and an MSc in Business Intelligence.
Ramith is a Senior Technical Lead at WSO2 and currently leads the Message Broker team. He holds a B.Sc in Computer science from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and has experience in Java/J2EE and C++ related technologies. He used to be a senior member of theuniversity’s rowing team and holds a second degree black belt (Nee Dan) in Karate.

Sanjiva has been involved with open source for many years and is an active member of the Apache Software Foundation. He was the original creator of Apache SOAP and has been part of Apache Axis, Apache Axis2 and most Apache Web services projects. He founded WSO2 after having spent nearly 8 years in IBM Research, where he was one of the founders of the Web services platform. During that time, he co-authored many Web services specifications including WSDL, BPEL4WS, WS-Addressing, WS-RF and WS-Eventing.

Selvaratnam Uthaiyashankar is Vice President of Engineering at WSO2 and focuses on the WSO2 Carbon enterprise middleware and WSO2 Cloud middleware platform. Additionally, Shankar has provided technology consulting on customer engagements, including cloud, distributed systems, enterprise integration, enterprise service bus (ESB), governance, and security solutions. Shankar is an Apache Software Foundation member and committer of various Apache projects. With more than ten years of industry experience, he has a strong background in cloud computing, service-oriented architecture, security, governance, enterprise integration and telecommunication billing systems. Shankar holds a B.Sc. in computer science and engineering from the University of Moratuwa.
Senaka Fernando is a Solutions Architect at WSO2. Senaka has provided technology consulting on customer engagements, helping them to successfully implement governance, enterprise application integration, SAP integration, and on-premise portal solutions. Senaka led the Governance Registry team and has contributed to multiple products at WSO2.
Senaka is an elected member of the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) and also a Project Management Committee (PMC) member and committer for a number of projects, which currently include Apache Web Services, Axis2, and several Apache incubator projects. Seshika is a Technical Lead at WSO2 where her current area of focus is in the application of WSO2 products in Financial Markets. Seshika started her career at Millennium Information Technologies and later joined Commercial Bank of Ceylon on completion of her postgraduate studies. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and an MSc in Finance from the London School of Economics, UK. Seshika is a British Chevening Scholar and holds a National patent. She is a Visiting Lecturer at the Institute of Chartered Accountants Sri Lanka, where she lectures for the MBA from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
Sonja has 25 years of technology and management experience in application development, infrastructure, linked data and big data. She is the founder of Z-KOO, a company based in the Netherlands, and the creator of the Web@ssistant. At Z-KOO she leads the integration of traditional IT with mobile services, cloud computing, enterprise social networking, big data and linked open data.

Srinath is the Vice President of Research at WSO2 Inc. He is a long-standing open source contributor. Srinath is a co-founder of Apache Axis2 (open source Web Service engine), a member of the Apache Software foundation and Committer for Apache Geronimo (J2EE Engine) and Apache Airavata. Srinath has been working with large-scale distributed systems and parallel computing for about 10 years and is a co-architect behind WSO2’s Complex Event Processing Engine. Srinath has authored two books about MapReduce, many technical articles (e.g. at IBM Developerworks, InfoQ) and 20+ peer-reviewed articles. He received his B.Sc. from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, in 2004 and his Ph.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington, USA in 2009.
Suho is a Technical Lead at WSO2. He focuses on the WSO2 Complex Event Processor. In addition to his product development efforts he has provided technology consulting on customer engagements, mainly focusing on distributed systems, enterprise integration and SAP integration. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. As the project lead of his final year university project, Suho drove the design and implementation of Siddhi-CEP – a high performance complex event processing engine, which later became the core of WSO2 Complex Event Processor. He has also published several papers & articles on real time complex event processing systems. He is a committer of the Apache Software Foundation where he has contributed to Apache PhotArk. He has also successfully finished two Google Summer of Code (GSoC) programs and been a GSoC Mentor for both Apache Software Foundation and WSO2.
Stephen has a strong technical background with over 20 years in the mobile telephone environment. He has been at the centre of the mobile internet space, dealing with blue chip companies and the largest global brands in the industry. He managed and implemented Vodafone’s internet partnership strategy across 20 markets and was the Managing Director of a Vodafone subsidiary in Denmark.
Sumedha is Director of API Architecture at WSO2. Sumedha has contributed to the successful implementation of data, SAP and repository-based integration projects, as well many WSO2 QuickStart development consulting engagements. He is an active committer with the Apache Axis2 project. Sumedha’s article, Carbon: towards a server building framework for SOA platform, was featured at the Fifth International Workshop on Middleware for Service Oriented Computing in New York. He holds a B.Sc. in MIS from the National University of Ireland and is currently reading for an M.Sc. in computer science from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.

Thomas Goetz is Head of Enterprise Architecture at BLS, the second largest railway company in Switzerland. He worked for 18 years as an enterprise and integration architect in public transport, telecommunications and finance industry. He also teaches postgraduate students in Integration Architecture at the University of Applied Sciences in Bern, where he previously was a full-time lecturer in Software Engineering.
Thomas holds a M.S. of the University of Bern, a MBA at the University of St. Gallen and is a graduated Software Engineer.
