Enabling Biometric Template Protection and Multi-factor Authentication through Mobile Devices

PIDaaS (Private Identity as a Service) is an EU ICT Policy Support Programme project, with its aim to create a secure authentication system, based on biometric recognition technologies and multi-factor authentication through mobile devices. The available biometric recognition technologies conform digital fingerprint, and both voice and facial recognition. Moreover, the project also adds biometric template protection schemes (BTPS) to avoid classical risks and ensure irreversibility, revocability of templates, and renewability. When Integration Means Much More Than Application Integration

HP Loyalty system is an advertising solution for the management of consumer loyalty cards issued by two of the biggest Italian Telco and Bank systems. iBeacons Events Processing

iBeacons are low-powered, low-cost transmitters, that allow accurate real-time indoor localization. They are a great solution to implement several commercial and security use cases based on the user’s location inside their offices. The iBeacons are easy install and deploy, but they require a Big Data analytics platform. The WSO2 CEP was a powerful tool that could process the raw events of iBeacons quickly and generate more meaningful events. These new events were distributed to other systems by means of the WSO2 ESB, which offered a centralized way to manage the communications and the security of the services. We developed a –ground-breaking- digital health platform called, for accessing patient data from mobile health and clinical devices, wearable’s and applications. With its growing ECO system of customers and partners -that includes health IT vendors, health information systems, wellness companies, providers, pharmaceutical companies and CROs- to the continuously expanding list of digital health technologies, this platform enables healthcare companies to better coordinate care, improve engagement strategies and more efficiently manage their populations.

To make the data meaningful for healthcare (semantic interoperable) the platform satisfies the (C)ENstandard 13606, using the OpenEHR archetypes. Not only knowledge but also states and rules could be captured in archetypes. This provides a semantically interoperable model for user interface, business logic, persistence and decision support. These archetypes provide an ideal basis for data fusion and sharing between different systems.

A quick startup in transportation – inter-company data exchange in railway operations

Train operations in an open-access railway network is a complex process which involves multiple companies and which is governed by many regulations, traditions and restrictions. The WSO2 ESB was studied in the application of railway production processes, namely train path ordering, delivery, production and fulfillment. The railway infrastructure managers in Switzerland decided to migrate the current set of interfaces, which are heavily anchored in the public transport landscape. Connected Identity and the role of the Identity Bus

Connected business is a very dynamic and complex environment. Getting Big Data into Shape – Where Less is More

Regardless of how practitioners feel about the appropriateness and usefulness of the term ‘big data’ an undeniable achievement has been its ability to elevate to senior business leaders the conversation around the significantly more complex data challenges business are currently facing, and the potential rewards to those organisations which invest into the appropriate data architectures to address them.
Whilst the volume of data has traditionally presented challenges to businesses, the mainstream adoption of technologies such as Hadoop is diminishing the technological barriers to effectively deal with them.
The emphasis of the data challenges from a marketing perspective is now evolving into the ability to react to consumer events across digital channels, with a high level of intelligence usually derived from batch processing analytical platforms, in real time – that is within the average human reaction time of 200 milliseconds.
